Node 52 Changes
Posted by Depardieu
Just wanted to provide an update on some changes in Node 52. After running Node 52 for a bit, I noticed a few things about the design and workflow.
Community Spotlight
I originally wanted to do a weekly community spotlight video where I would comment on a recent video, but I ran into two major issues:
There just aren't enough content creators for Lineage 1 private servers to achieve this easily. Initially, I found I was bouncing between two creators in attempt to showcase multiple servers, then I ran out of new videos some weeks.
I'm bad at writing.
I'm doing away with the community spotlight. The new feed automatically posts the most recent videos to the home page. Additionally, there is a creators tab where you can view Lineage 1 private server content creators' videos. I'm hoping this gives people a place to explore videos easily and maybe inspire other players to make content as well.
News
My original plan was to keep up to date on all updates for private servers and keep Node 52 updated with their updates as well. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time to play and I only have time to play one server myself, so I'm simply not knowledgeable enough to comment on other servers' updates. I found a lot of my update attempts were sloppy and just didn't do the servers justice.
I've decided to focus on major updates, events, and changes only. This will let me focus more on reviewing the event, researching the impact, and providing a better article. The result will be less updates, but also higher quality updates and less noise.
Guides
I created Node 52 because I felt the Lineage 1 private server community was lacking a central hub and a central knowledge base. I think it better fulfills the central hub, and I want to put more effort towards the knowledge base aspect. I'm going to focus my Node 52 efforts more towards news and better quality guides.
As usual, please remember that this is just small project by a guy that has very limited time. If anything is missing, looks incorrect, or if you want to help, please let me know. You can email (admin@node52.net) or reach out via Discord (.depardieu).
